In short. Bibasi uses AI to interpret conversations and to translate what the camera sees. It is helpful but not perfect, so check anything important. It needs a subscription, which renews until you cancel it in your Apple account settings, and conversation time has fair-use limits.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and MD Sabel Ahmad Tanjil, known as Tanjil Ahmad, the owner of Metly Media, in Bangladesh, who makes Bibasi.

The service

Bibasi listens to a conversation between people and speaks a translation of each turn, translates signs, menus and labels seen through the camera, and converts prices between currencies. Translations are produced by AI services and can be wrong, incomplete or delayed; a dish’s description is a guess from its name. Do not rely on Bibasi in emergencies, or for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions; never rely on it for allergies or ingredients. Confirm important details such as prices, doses, addresses and times in writing or with a human interpreter.

Exchange rates

Converted prices use daily reference rates from a public rates service and are a guide only. Banks, exchange offices and card providers use their own rates and fees.

Subscription

  • Using Bibasi requires an auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple. The price and period are shown in the app before you buy.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

  • Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, together with these terms.

Fair use

Each subscription includes conversation time with daily and 30-day limits, and a daily allowance of camera translations, so the service stays affordable for everyone. The current limits are 120 minutes of conversation a day, 1,200 minutes in any 30 days, and 300 camera pictures a day. We may change these limits; this page always shows the current ones. If you reach a limit, the app tells you when it becomes available again.

Using it well

  • Tell the people you talk to that the conversation is being translated by AI services.

  • Use Bibasi lawfully. Do not use it to record, photograph or interpret people where that is not allowed, or to harass anyone.

  • Do not try to use the service other than through the app, or to get around its limits. We may limit or stop the service for anyone who does.

  • You must be at least 13 to use Bibasi. If you are under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Other services

Bibasi depends on third-party AI, speech, translation, hosting, subscription and exchange-rate services, and on Apple. If one of them is unavailable, parts of Bibasi may not work for a while.

No warranty

Bibasi is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by translation errors, delays or the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. That does not take away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too, and continuing to use Bibasi means you accept the new version. Questions: tanjil@metlymedia.com.
